Born in New York City, Lyn Bronson is a graduate of Yale University and the Yale University School of Music. After studying with Artur Balsam and Bruce Hungerford in New York City, he completed his graduate studies at California State University Fullerton, where he became a member of the piano faculty. He has been an active performer on the Monterey Peninsula and has given over forty solo recitals during the past thirty years. at Hartnell College, Monterey Peninsula College, CSU - Monterey Bay, Sunset Center in Carmel and other local venues. He has also appeared as concerto soloist with the Pancultural Orchestra, and six times with the Monterey Peninsula College Orchestra. A former piano instructor at Hartnell College in Salinas, he was a member of the faculty of CSU Monterey Bay from September 1996 until his retirement in June 2007. He has given piano master classes at CSU Monterey Bay, San Jose State University and Pasadena City College.
Renée Bronson, a native of Carmel, began her piano instruction with Angie Machado. After studying in New York City with Australian pianist Bruce Hungerford, she received her Bachelor of Music degree at California State University Fullerton, where she studied with Earle C. Voorhies. She has taught piano on the faculties of Monterey Peninsula College and Hartnell College. Her students have distinguished themselves in local, state and national competitions. She has appeared in recital at both Monterey Peninsula College and Hartnell College as well as at Sunset Center in Carmel. With her husband they were featured duo-pianists at the State Convention of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers in 1990.
She served on the board of the Carmel Music Society from 1975 to 1981, where,with her husband, she launched the Society's Young Artist Competition in 1977 and administered it for six years. She has also served on the boards of the Monterey County Branch of the Music Teachers' Association of California, the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, and the Carmel Heritage Society. With her husband, she created and administered the subscription piano series Keyboard Artist Series which brought distinguished pianists to Carmel's Sunset Center from 1981 to 1996.
